Cow by cow |

March 27, 2011

Pronunciation: Pah-RAH, pah-RAH
Definition: Direct translation is “Cow, cow,” but it means “one by one”,
“take things one at a time”, etc

A friend who once worked at airport security here in Israel told me a story of one of her old co-workers. When some restless passengers tried to push through the security gate one after the other, she blurted to them in English, “Cow by cow please!” This was met with confused and offended looks, of course.

Much love,
Kaori
