New office | 新しいオフィス

Hi there, and please excuse my absence for this past week!

We moved within the same kibbutz last weekend, only about 2 minutes away from our previous apartment. The new apartment layout is almost identical to our previous one except for a big bonus – it’s a corner. As a lover of natural light this brings me much joy, although check back with me on how I feel about this come July or August, when the Israeli summer smacks me in earnest. I may be cursing for all the extra windows.

(The move confused our poor cat for a few days, but now he seems to know his new home.

We are contracted to live in this apartment only until the end of this year, due to changes the kibbutz is going through. This will mean 3 moves in less than 2 years since I came to Israel. I should also add that within 2 years before I came to Israel, I also moved twice. 5 moves in less than 4 years – if anything, I am becoming an expert on packing!
I am also planning some little changes here on the blog. I hope to start posting entries regularly about particular subjects on certain days of the week. Two topics I currently have planned are “kibbutzim” and “food/cooking”. Kibbutzim are original to Israel and it is also a very interesting time to focus on them as they are going through changes, like the kibbutz we live in. For “Food/Cooking”, I’m hoping to introduce not only food and cuisine unique to Israel but also my experiences in dealing with ingredients that are/aren’t available in Israel, and some of the dishes that come out as a result. Stay tuned!

I hope you’re having a good week, my friends.

Much love,
