In May of 2010, when I was 33 years old, I made one of my biggest leaps in life and moved to Israel.

I let go of an interesting and well paying job in media, parted with my parents and a small but solid network of friends and colleagues, and left Tokyo, my home city I had learned to love dearly.

All for a man. Some days I still can’t believe it!

I personally find Israel a rather difficult place to live, but also a fascinating place. There’s really no place quite like it. I hope to reflect what makes Israel so unique here on the blog!

I am a Japanese native but spent nearly 14 years in the United States, so you will probably find references to both places here in the blog.
(This is also why the blog is in both English and Japanese, and while I try my best to mirror the content of the languages, please understand it is not always a direct translation.)

ヘブライ語で素晴らしいを意味します。 発音はメウレ。

２０１０年５月末、３３歳だった時に、人生で最大の賭けに出ました。

やりがいがあり給料も良かったメディアの仕事をやめ、
家族、友達、仕事仲間とも離れ、
気付いたら大好きになっていた東京にサヨナラをし、
イスラエルに来ました。

ある一人の男性のために。
未だに信じられない日もあります　笑

私にとってイスラエルは決して住みやすい国ではありません。
でもとても興味深い国です。
世界中で、イスラエルような場所はあまり存在しないのではないのでしょうか。
このブログで、イスラエルのユニークな面をできるだけ紹介できたらと思います。

私は日本人ですが、約１４年間アメリカに住んでいたこともあるので、
変な日本語はしょっちゅう登場すると思います（ごめんなさい！）。
遠慮なく訂正のコメントをしてくださいね。
